Ingredients
8 Lasagna noodles
2 cups shredded cheddar
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 egg, lightly beaten
¼ cup white sugar
1 tsp almond extract
2 cans apple pie filling
6 tbsp brown sugar
¼ cup quick oats
½ tsp ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground nutmeg
3 tsp margarine
1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup brown sugar
Method
• Preheat oven at 350°F
• Bring a large saucepan of water to boil. Add lasagna noodles and cooks until just tender (about 8 minutes.) Rinse and drain noodles; set aside.
• In a mid-sized bowl, combine cheddar, ricotta, egg, white sugar and almond extract. Spread one can of the apple pie filling evenly at the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish. Layer half of the noodles to cover the filling. Next, spread the cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat process by then layering the remaining noodles, the remaining apple sauce over top.
• In a small bowl, mix together the flour, 6tbsps brown sugar, oats, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix in the margarine until the mixture is coarse and crumbly. Sprinkle this mixture over the Lasagna.
• Bake for about 45 minutes. Once heated through, cool for 15 minutes. During cooling, combine the sour cream with 1/3 cup brown sugar. Once served add a dollop of this sour cream mixture over top each piece.
