Thank you so much for the recipe! I’ve only gotten the sauce done so far but it is so good I’m drooling! Do you have a good recipe of Spinach Lasagna? I’ve not found one that has the right mix of sauce and spinach (either too much or too little of either!).
    Thanks!

4/25/10 I’m making this recipe for my nephew’s wedding. I want to bake it then freeze the dish. How long will it take to reheat and what temp for the oven? It’s a great recipe, thank you.

3/13/10 – I tried the Lasagna recipe today and it was very easy to prepare. I used mild Italian sausage and added a lot of spices. I made my own Italiain seasoning using rosemary, basil, thyme, oregano and marojam equal parts. I also used low salt diced tomatoes (7) cans (14.5 oz) and placed them in the crock pot all day long to simmer. Then I added tomato paste to help thicken the sauce. I used (3) 6oz. cans of tomato paste. I doubled the recipe and it came out delicious. Thank you very much for such a delicious lasagna recipe. This recipe has been e-mailed to family and friends and will be used for years to come.

Well this was my first attempt at making lasagna on my own. I’m a senior in high school and I take a culinary arts class and we make lasagna there too but never on our own. I forgot the school recipe at home so I stumbled upon this recipe out of pure luck it was the first one I chose cuz I was in a rush and I am sooooo happy that I did! I made this recipe on Valentine’s Day for my valentines! (My brother, dad, uncle, and boyfriend!) Although I didn’t use the sweet Italian sausage I just used the regular mild Italian sausage it came out magnificent!!! They all loved it!!! This recipe is absolutely perfect! It came out so great they want me to make it every sunday! =)
    Thanks for the great recipe,
    Stephanie

I made the sauce the day before and then made the lasagna the next day. I have children who are rather particular about their sauce and this one was a hit! One suggestion…use a DEEP 9×13 pan. At least 3 inches deep…. The lasagna was a hit with all…in fact I shared the sauce (not the recipe) with a friend who thinks he is the best sauce maker that lived…

I’m simmering the sauce right now and it’s so yummy I can’t stop opening up the lid to taste it! I’m so excited to eat the finished product I know it’ll be amazing. Thanks for such a great and easy recipe. The pictures are so lovely as well and makes it so simple to follow along. Yum!

    Soak 12 lasagna noodles.

The lasagna noodles need to be soaked in hot tap water for 15 minutes. Make sure you use HOT tap water and let them soak for 15 minutes.

I just wanted to let you know I have never made lasagna before & I’m an old Grandma. I decided after finding your recipe to try it and make it for Christmas Eve Dinner for part of my husbands family & our son & his girlfriend. I was a little nervous since my husbands family is very particular about their lasagna as they have one passed down from 1 generation to the other. Well, let me tell ya, they ranted and raved over it….I was so pleased. Believe me this will be a keeper for us. They still bring up how great it was. Really like the pic’s of each step. I also did what you did and made the sauce the night before then did my layers the next day….Absolutely FANTASTIC. Thank you so much for sharing you Lasagna Recipe with us!!!!!!!

    Hi,
I’ve been using your sauce recipe with the lasagna as above and have loved it. I’ve had left over sauce and freeze it to use with a spaghetti night. I would like to make a “meatball” type of sauce, and I was wondering if I could just use the ingredients and make meatballs, put them in the sauce and cook for 1.5 hours. Do you think that would work? Thanks, Linn

Milk is used in lasagna recipes for a Béchamel sauce. My recipe is not a Béchamel sauce lasagna.

OKay, I am having a dinner party this Sat and I am gonna try this recipe. Dude – or Dudette – can I use a pound of lamb-with-wine sausage I got from a local butcher who only uses grass-fed animals? Why not, right? I am so scared of this dinner party – one of the guests had us over last month and cooked Italian and it was BEYOND EXCELLENT. She has set the bar HIGH.

I run the no cook lasagna noodles under cold water before layering. This assures that they’ll cook properly without any dry spots
Be sure every noodle is covered with cheese and/or sauce. Spread your filling all the way to the edges of each noodle. Otherwise th part of the noodle that is exposed will not soften up, and you’ll have a crunchy surprise around the edges of your lasagna.

I am going to try your recipe because I cook a great deal and I can see that it has merit. One thing I have never done is the no cook pasta, is there anyting I should know, or just soak in hot water and proceed normally. Looking forward to your recipe.

    Thanks
